Primary Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Workshop

On 13th of February we conducted a meaningful and impactful workshop focused on Primary Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) at ministry of foreign affairs department of USA and Europe. The session aimed to increase awareness and empower participants with knowledge on how everyday lifestyle choices play a critical role in preventing conditions such as Hypertension, Diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses that continue to affect many communities today.

During the workshop, participants engaged in discussions about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and routine health check-ups. Preventing NCDs starts with awareness, and we emphasized how small daily habits can make a big difference in protecting long-term health and wellbeing.

As part of the program, we also conducted free health screenings for participants, including blood pressure measurements, blood sugar testing, and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments. These screenings are essential in helping individuals understand their current health status and identify early risk factors that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Many participants had the opportunity to learn about their health numbers for the first time, opening important conversations about prevention, early detection, and healthy living. For those with elevated results, guidance and education were provided on lifestyle modifications and the importance of seeking further medical evaluation when necessary.

Workshops like this remind us that prevention is one of the most powerful tools in healthcare. By equipping communities with knowledge and access to basic screenings, we can take meaningful steps toward reducing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases.

We were deeply honoured to be joined by Ambassador Swahiba H. Mndeme, the newly appointed Ambassador of Tanzania to Sweden, who graced our event as Guest of Honour. Her presence highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting community health and the prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

We remain committed to continuing community education, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring that more people have access to the information and services they need to protect their health.

Together, we can build healthier communities through awareness, prevention, and early action.
